About Kristin:

With an early love for wealth management, Kristin formally started her career in financial services at UBS in 2010. After spending the summer after college solo backpacking around Western Europe, Kristin found herself craving more independence in her career, which led her to join North Star Resource Group in 2011. After co-founding the Law Division within North Star, Kristin partnered with Joe Burgess in 2015 to form Moxie Wealth as a subsidiary of NSRG.

Kristin’s background is unique: she doesn’t come from money and has seen firsthand what life looks like – along with how stressful life can be – when money is a constant worry. As a teenager, Kristin took courses on entrepreneurship and financial planning, where she started to recognize that while money is something we all deal with on a daily basis, few of us have any formal financial management training. After realizing that she had a natural talent with numbers, cash flow, and organization, along with wanting to build a career where she could create a real impact for those around her, Kristin started down the path to become a wealth advisor.

With a zeal for building an immersive experience for every client, Kristin and Joe found that their complementary strengths, along with their client-first vision, would be an asset to the executives they both worked with separately. A joint passion for outdoor adventure led to them partnering to create Moxie together.

Also passionate about supporting the needs of less fortunate families in the Twin Cities, Kristin is on the Board of Directors for the Diaper Bank of Minnesota and is also heavily involved with TeamWomen. A foodie at heart, you’ll frequently find Kristin experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. Seeing her family and friends enjoy her food makes her heart sing! With two little ones at home, Kristin spends quite a bit of her free time exploring the outdoors while visiting local parks and playgrounds. When she has a few minutes to herself, she enjoys being active on her Peloton bike and rower.
